Jasmina Ceric is a refugee from Bosnia, coming to America not by choice but because of necessity. A a writer from a young age, she journalized her journey, became well educated in America, and authored a memoir titled CHILDHOOD INTERFUPTED: From Bosnia to America. Jasmina and yWrite Host Angela Grout discuss how this novel lead to teach classes and give informational talks at colleges to educate others about worldly events. The life she lived in Bosnia vs. coming to the states in the 90s merged to make her into a sought after translator for refugees, and a representative helping immigrants and refugees adapt to life in America. She earned her Doctorate in Psychology, is a Bosnian Translator and works closely with the New Haven Refuge Ministry. Her story has been featured on CBS's Eye on America, as well as WGBY. Her goal to irradicate hate and educate others makes her a trail blazer in the USA. She is working on developing an upcoming podcast to discuss and educate on the topic of being a political refugee and the difference of immigration, to bring an understanding to the unique journeys of others.
